The problem is with running the tests. Unless we find another way, we  
have to add a flag in the command line used to run the java tests:
  * -d32 if the build is in 32bit
  * -d64 if the build is in 64bit

This would require to add some mac os specific code in the  
CMakeLists.txt file. This is not that easy to do, because  
CMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES may contain several architectures, and (I  
guess) the build architecture may also be specified with the gcc  
options.
I'd prefer let to the user the responsability to choose the  
architecture.

That's what ARCHPREFERENCE is supposed to do, but I can't make it work.

I'm looking at this problem.
