Hi Steve,
We just added a README.txt file to the directory:
Insight/Copyright/
That summarizes the current status of known Copyrights
in the Insgitht Toolkit distribution.
This is just for keeping track of the status in a way
that is more convenient than email.
As you pointed out, there are many pending issues, and
we are working to resolve them...
We anticipate that the situation should be very clear
by the time we release ITK 3.0.
This should also be a great occasion for getting rid
of patented code that contaminates the toolkit.
We will appreciate to hear from you if you find any other
Copyright issues in ITK that may have escaped to our first
pass.
About netlib.... it is a lot of fun.... there are about
ten packages under the netlib directory... So we are going
one by one listing them into the README.txt file...

Can you gives some guidelines (or point us to an
appropriate URL) on the Debian policies for stating
the copyright + licenses of packages ?
We probably should create a checklist for future
contributions to the toolkit.
Thanks
Luis
