Hi Özgür,
Many thanks for your suggestion.
I have go through all the examples available, but mostly are not applicable
because of Linux OS system required. I am using Window7 currently. However, i
managed to compile the VideoFrameGrabberAndViewerOpenIGTLink, it works fine
although i haven't test with USG machine connection, my question is that the
network cable Rj41 is the same as LAN / Ethernet cable? For OpenIGTLink
connection, why i need two computers? Can i connect the LAN cable both ended
directly at USG machine and Computer? or i must have any other converter?
Second question, I have HDMI (high definition multimedia interface) connector on
my laptop. Is this kind of connector consider as one of the firewire cable ? If
yes, is that possible for me to run igstkImagingSourceImager/Tool under Window
7 instead of Linux OS system?
Thank you for your time and suggestion.
best regards,
Lai

hi Lai,
no, unfortunately you can not use the webcam implementation,
but
1) currently the igstkCompressedDVImager/Tool works in Linux over firewire.
i.e. if you can connect your US machine to a videograbber/converter and the
videograbber/converter to your PC over firewire then it will work (prerequisite:
uncompressed DV format)
2) there is also a igstkImagingSourceImager/Tool which works with this converter
http://www.theimagingsource.com/de_DE/products/converters/dfgusb2lt/ (firewire
version)
you can connect your US machine over Composite Video, S-Video to the converter
and connect the converter with firewire to your PS.
3)You can also use two PCs, one is connected to the US device and grabs the
videoframes and sends the videoframes using the openIGTLink protocol. The second
PC which is connected with a network cable (RJ-41) to the image sending PC uses
igstkOpenIGTLingkImager/Tool to receive the images.
4)Build your own igstk_XXX_Imager/Tool, which is not that hard at all.

Özgür
