[Dart] Dart/DartClassic vs Dart/Dart2/NewDart

Matt,
I appreciate the feedback. I certainly understand the confusion.
We like the Dart so much we want to keep using it for the new Dart
even though architecturally the new Dart and old Dart only share
the base concepts.
What I would like to do is refer to the previous version of Dart
as Dart Classic. I'd like to change over the original Dart website
to have Dart "2" (where the "2" is silent) information and a link to
old Dart Classic information for historical purposes.
We may want to consider changing the Dart Classic cvs repository to
be a checkout of Dart Classic. At a minimum, we should probably
put a README or something in the Dart Classic repository directing
people to the new version of Dart and the new svn repository.
Much of this could happen when we move our main software developments
efforts (ITK, VTK, CMake, etc.) to Dart 2.
Jim

Subject: [Dart] Dart/DartClassic vs Dart/Dart2/NewDart
I believe Dart (or at least the Dart Server) has a naming/syntax problem.
Dart Classic Server is known as "Dart" and is documented as such on websites.
Dart2 Server is known as "Dart" and is documented as such on websites.
I've considered for some time before posting this email. After introducing
Dart to 2 of my co-workers (Vignesh, who you know, and Prashasta, who works
with Vignesh), it's become clear to me that the naming syntax is
overloaded, and this leads to problems related mostly to miscommunication.
I wonder: is it possible we can resolve this now, and reach an agreement on
a consistent, non-overloaded name/syntax set, and eliminate this issue?
For what it's worth, I don't want to appear as if I'm griping here. On the
contrary, I continue to be ecstatic that Dart (in whatever name) even exists.
-Matt
