You may also use latest nightly version of 3D Slicer to load data in almost any research format (nrrd, mha, stl, ...), process it (apply deformation, filters, etc.) and export it to DICOM (image, structure set, etc).

Good idea. I have not done that. I was merely happy if Osirix would read the files.
