Thank you for the update.
That is precisely what I was trying to say, it seems that in this case
the "most successful"
approach would be the "contribute yourself" one.

Moreover I **personnally** that the bug report
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=174176
is "too high level".

What Eclipse/CDT and CMake would need to get good mutual support
would *only* be the out-of-source support.

Getting more like defining some "CMake toolchain" inside eclipse would be nice
but not strictly necessary.

Since we seem to all lack-of-time, may be defining a intnership for a student
and/or Google Summer of Code-like thing would be nice.

I'll try to contact some Java teacher I know in order to see if he
would be interested
in proposing some student work on the subject.
(out-of-source support must be done in Eclipse not CMake).
