Virtual tools used in the AVM resection simulator 1. Suction Tool: This tool is responsible to suck blood and bran matter. That action can be simulated by removing material from the mesh (topological changes). Also, this tool has a small orifice that allow the surgeon to increase the suction power. 2. Cauterizer: This tool cauterize (burn) vessels in order to stop the bleeding. This action can be simulated by simulating smoke and also removing material from mesh. 3. Clamping Tool: This tool is responsible for applying a clamp to large vessels in order to stop bleeding.
