C++ Interface for Interson USB probe
Kitware has developed an open source C++ wrapper around the Interson C# SDK. This native Windows C++ library includes headers and libraries that can be linked against to control the probe from native, i.e. unmanaged, C++ software. It also includes basic example executable applications in the Slicer Execution Model interface. Hardware options on the probe can be manipulated, and both B-Mode and RF image data collected.
Kitware has interfaced the Interson USB probes with the Public Library of UltraSound (PLUS) toolkit. This extension to the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) enables real-time visualization and processing of the ultrasound probe images. This provides, for example, native C++ scan conversion. Direct visualization is possible, or the image data can be streamed to OpenIGTLink-compatible devices such as 3D Slicer or 3D Slicer-derived GUI interfaces.
