We do not see this problem with the 32-bit, Qt 4.3.3 binary that is produced on dashmacmini2.

But we do see this problem with 64-bit Qt 4.6.4 builds, including the ones on dashmacmini5.

The fix for the related bug, 0009839, exposed this one.

This Qt bug report could be the cause, or at least related:

  https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-20531 [^]

From that bug report:

"It also shows that the popup part is shown / hidden / shown / hidden ... on every key stroke."

Do we happen to have code in CMake that assumes that when the popup part is hidden, we're done?

We've tried a build with Qt 4.7.4 in which this problem appears to be gone... The next rc and/or the final release of CMake 2.8.6 should be built against that Qt for the 64-bit Mac installers.

The 64-bit Mac binary for 2.8.6-rc4 is built against Qt 4.7.4, and this problem is gone...
