Please look at the "Data" link of the main

 From reading that page you will find that
there are many images available at:

      Insight/Examples/Data


and the ftp server:

     ftp://public.kitware.com/pub/itk/Data/


In particular, Brain images are available at

    ftp://public.kitware.com/pub/itk/Data/BrainWeb



You should also read the ITK Software Guide

      http://www.itk.org/ItkSoftwareGuide.pdf


In particular, the chapter "Reading and Writing Image"
for a full description of the fileformats supported
by ITK. Chapter 7, pdf-page 289.
