I think the fix would be in SWIG, and is probably already done in a more
recent SWIG version.  Currently we are locked to an old version due to
the heavy integration of Cable and SWIG in CableSwig.  Current
contributors' work on the future of wrapping plans to separate them, so
a newer version will be usable later.  I don't think it is worth fixing
in the current version since no one has been using it anyway.
