Hi Steve,

Thanks for taking the time of reviewing the copyright
status of ITK files.

A) The Numerical Recipes code from the
      itkPowellOptimizer was removed before
      releasing ITK 3.2:

http://www.itk.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/Code/Numerics/itkPowellOptimizer.cxx?root=Insight&sortby=date&r2=1.10&r1=1.9

The comments in the file are outdated, we have already
replaced the copyrighted code with code that was taken
from:

http://www.netlib.org/go/zeroin.f

and from the Wikipedia description of the Golden section
search algorithm:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brent_method
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_section_search

B) Regarding Insight/Utilities/itkExtHdrs/itkAnalyzeDb.h

Hans Johnson and Vincent Magnotta (at University of Iowa)
were following on this issue. It seems that the Mayo
Clinic was fine with providing a license for this file,
and they were working out the wording of such license.

We have not seen the final text yet.

    Thanks

       Luis
