The IGSTK navigator example does not handle the cross hairs correctly
It only works on orthogonal aligned datasets (like CTs without tilt)

see however the following messages (check your version has those fixes set)

I will try to send you a patch until we go for a refactoring in this 
regard:

the idea would be to draw the cross hairs (and any other polyline) on 
the resliced plane, by taking into account its normal toward the camera 
in the 2D view
