Glad to hear that you have figured out the problem!

Just to let you know, we are also implementing modality-neutral dicom 
readers.  It is not yet finished
but you can take a look at the implementation in the Sandbox. Once it is 
fully tested and ready for prime time,
we will move it to the main repository.
