Hi Yves,

Indeed it is funny because I get this!

white:~/Desktop/VTKgcc/VTK/bin dan$ lipo -info  
libvtkFilteringPythonD.dylib
Architectures in the fat file: libvtkFilteringPythonD.dylib are: ppc  
i386
white:~/Desktop/VTKgcc/VTK/bin dan$

So at least as far as my build got  it was making universal .dylib
