| Summary | 0007697: Allow setting of IFPkgFlagAuthorizationAction for OSX DMG packages | ||||||||
| Description | IFPkgFlagAuthorizationAction is set to AdminAuthorization by default. As a result, the user is always prompted for a password for a DMG package, even when you install a package into /Applications/ or the user's $HOME where administrator rights aren't needed and the prompting for a password seems suspicious. It would be nice if we had something like @CPACK_PACKAGE_ADMIN_INSTALL@ which did this and could also possibly be used for NSIS UAC handling on Vista. If you guys don't see this as high priority I could probably write a patch to do so. | ||||||||

I did not realize that you could install without admin. |

Yep, you can, I just think not in certain places, e.g. outside of /Applications or $HOME. |

So, a patch would be welcome for this one. |

Sure, I'll have a look at doing so. |

Hello, I would like to request a fix for this issue a well. We're using CPACK to build an installer for MacOS, and would like to run as a normal user. If a fix is not available, some pointers on what to patch would be appreciated. Thanks! |
