[vtkusers] 3D warp transform examples

I have a 3D object which I need to twist and turn flexibly to reshape.  For
example, moving the top layer of the below grid should flexibly bend all the
vertical poles of the grid. So there should be some resistance to the
imposed transformation.

Is it possible to create such an effect using vtk? Please guide me with
examples
