[vtkusers] How to mark a point perpendicular to surface?

Hi,

I would like mark a point/find the point which is perpendicular to the centroid of a region in a polydata.

Please refer to the attached image.

How can I make a keypoint (marked in red) which is z normal to the given coordinates (marked as +)?
