[vtkusers] Problems while rendering of large volumes

Addendum number 2: it seems that I was wrong about the code being independent
of vtkGPUInfo - it needs it to calculate MaxMemoryInBytes. I have solved
this for now by calculating this separately and setting MaxMemoryInBytes to
the correct value rather than the default of 128MB. All seems to work nicely
now.
