[vtkusers] The vtkSweptSurface patent has expired - is it/will it be available in vtk again?

Hello,

I'm interested in using the functionality described in the vtkSweptSurface
class. This class was dropped around V5.4 because it was patented I believe,
however I think the patent has now expired.

Is there any way to get this back into VTK?
