That looks like GDCM itself needs to be updated to work with the newest VTK.  GDCM 2.8.4 is newest version, but you might try GDCM from git master, and if that doesn't work, you should post on the GDCM mailing list: <gdcm-developers at lists.sourceforge.net>.
