[vtkusers] How to improve medical volume render?

Can anybody give me some advises to improve the volume render effect of my
medical image data? How can I remove the "isolines" on skin to make it looks
smooth? I have tried SetSampleDistance(), small distance can improve it but
make the rendering time too long, is there any other good way to make it
more beautiful?
