[vtkusers] A little question on pipe

Hi, 
I've juste an small question on pipe data. 
As you know, I would like to configure my pipe one time and let it manage modifications. 

I got a problem with vtkImageImport, my input data. 
At the begin, I can have no data, but vtk don't seem to support data. 
There is a way to say: "OK I'm empty, that's normal"?
