[vtkusers] Qml VTK itk etc

I'm working on a project where the UI folks want to use Qml for the UI, which apparent requires QtCreator as the IDE. 
Does qtVtkwidgets play well with qml? Has anyone done this ( recently)?

Because of all the static linked libraries in ITK,header folders,  etc, I'm unclear if there's a "good" way to use QtCreator as the IDE with these toolkits.

Has anyone done this?
