[vtkusers] vtkTriangleStrip and empty vtkSTLWriter output

I meant "why did you have to ask," not "why did you ask." Obviously, this
is a friendly list, and all questions VTK are welcomed... My point being
that it seems like the sort of thing which should either be very well
documented, including the sample code, or simply detected/handled
automatically.

My other question still remains:

Would the two specific cases I called out be acceptable for some attempt to
handle them automatically, or do we just need better documentation and
sample code for STL writer and polydata rendering?
