[vtkusers] Offscreen GPU Volume Rendering Mac OS X generates black images

I am enabling off screen rendering by calling SetOffScreenRendering(1) on
the vtkRenderWindow.  Should I be using osmesa?  I can create a standalone
example to reproduce if needed.
