I deleted the entire build directory...

To ensure a truly clean build, it is also necessary to go into the
CMakeCache.txt and delete everything after "# INTERNAL cache entries".
Even better: delete everything after the first "//Dependencies for the target"
comment, just in case you are linking the wrong libraries for some reason.
