Jameson can you please help me with the cxx and cmake file you used ? I am
using matlab 8.3 on macbook pro. 
I tried reading :
http://www.vtk.org/Wiki/VTK/Module_Development
to help me create the module.cmake file Marcus and David wrote about, but I
am not exactly sure how to go about with it.
