[vtkusers] What is the correct way to cite ITK and VTK in a journal paper?

I am writing a paper for publication in Neuroimage.

I used ITK and VTK to develop software for automated segmentation of lateral human brain ventricles from MRI images.

Could you please tell me what is the correct way to cite ITK and VTK in a bibliography?
Are their seminal papers that I can cite?
