The path should be something like that:
/opt/vtk-6.0/lib/cmake/vtk-6.0
There is no CMakeFiles directory in the installed directory, either you did
not install or you installed in the wrong directory.
Please give us the absolute path to your build directory   and the absolute
path to your install directory.

When you configured cmake to build vtk, what did you set as
CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX?
If you never set this variable, the default should be /usr/local and
probably you have no permission to install there.

Maybe try to run cmake again and set CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX to
/home/stame1/software/VTK6_installed
(or something other instead of VTK6_installed), then set VTK_DIR to the new
path.
