[vtkusers] How to get reduced(simplified) number of points that approximates a curve.

Hi,

Is there any method/filter in VTK which helps in approximating a input curve by giving reduced (simplified) number of points as the output?
I have been trying out Douglas Peucker  which is distance-based , I want to know is there any curvature-based method of doing the same.
