[vtkusers] How to store bool array to point data

Hi all,
I would like to store bool array as point data of polydata (in order to
indicate whether point was flagged by algorithm or not and than visualise
points of interest).
I did not find such array class in vtk , how it could be realised (except
storing boolean to unsigned char ) ? Is there some special reason why such
type of array does not exist ?
