[vtkusers] Volume rendering Shading with dependent components

Good spot, I just faced the same issue and have been trying to track down the
problem for the past hour. At least in this way I can get a shaded output
with release build. I too think it might just be a leftover assert. Saw your
bug listing, hope it will be resolved sometime.
