[vtkusers] About threads

Hello everyone,
I have two questions regarding threads and the VTK library.

   1. I'm using the PCL library and its visualization module (specifically,
   the PCLVisualizer class) runs over VTK. When instantiating a new
   PCLVisualizer object, does the VTK underlying create a new thread to run
   that object or everything happens in the main thread?.
   2. If a new thread is created, is there a way to access that thread and
   manipulate it?.
