No, I was clicking on the build button. CTRL+F5 is still asking for debug :-/

Seems that you use visual studio.
Are you doing F5 to run the app?
Try ctrl+f5

Another (surely stupid) question : I don't know why but when I build my project, even in "release" mode, it always asks for debug session. I guess it's an option somewhere, but I can't find where to inactivate it.

Seems that you are on windows, did you escaped the \ chars?eg:
myReader->SetFilename("c:\\mydir\\myfile.3DS");
Do you have spaces in the file path?
