[vtkusers] partial extrusion...is there a filter?

Hi Everybody,

I have a plane surface and want a special area to "stand out" from it, maybe
like a socket.

The plane surface is coming from a linear extrusion filter.

Is there an easy way, to transform my surface, so it has a socket?

By now I take the polydata of the surface and try to add points manually,
but this seems to be no proper method.
