[vtkusers] reduce number of glyph

I tried to down sample a vtkpolydata, which is generateted from a cut by a
plan, it's a curve.
I used vtkMaskPolyData but it does not seem to work, the number of points
does not change,
I looked to the vtkMaskPoints to try it, but how to get the vertices from
polydata because the setinput to this filter must be vertices only.
