Hi David,

I wasn't able to find the thread you mentioned, but I saw that Brad King checked in a fix as of yesterday. Thanks a lot for the fix !
Installation is now smooth again.

Daniel

P.S. I just saw, that my last reply yesterday went off-list by accident. Sorry, this was not intentionally

There is another thread on the list where Brad King reports to have fixed this FYI.

Hi,

I've also had the same problem on Mac Os X.

Hi,

I downloaded this morning the recent VTK snapshot from the git web interface an tried to build/install it.
I used the graphical cmake GUI, version 2.8.4. The only change I did in the configuration was to additionally select BUILD_EXAMPLES and BUILD_SHARED_LIBS. I use MS Visual Studio 2008 64bit on a 64bit Windows system.

Configuration/Generation went smooth as usual. Also Building the binaries (target ALL_BUILD with setting RelWithDebInfo) works fine.
The problem shows when building the target INSTALL; it complains about a missing file /Utilities/metaIOConfig.h, giving in the error message also some stack trace (which seems to make sense).
Now I checked the directory /Utilities, where the file is supposed to be, and there is only a file metaIOConfig.h.in<http://metaIOConfig.h.in>.

I am quite unfamiliar with the details of the cmake generation procedure, but this feels to me like a missing step in the source tree generation. Did I do something wrong or missed something (I followed the same procedure - as outlined above - several times before without any trouble ever), or is something broken in the cmake configuration ? I searched the archives a bit, but could not find anything helpful...

Daniel
