[vtkusers] vtkSelectPolyData - 'cant follow edge'

hi all,
      i am using vtkSelectPolyData for surface selection. I often encounter 'cant follow edge' error. The selection loop that i have defined is a closed loop tracing the edges of the surface. How can i avoid the above mentioned error.
