[vtkusers] Crash when loading large .vtk file

I have 3.5GB RAM, WIndows XP 64bit and virtual memory initial=8184 and
max=16268.

I am trying to load .vtk file (~ 1.5 million points) but it crashes when the
memory usage is about 1.5 GB (as noticed in Windows Task Manager).
I have successfully loaded the file in Paraview (it used about 2.2 GB
memory).
What is wrong?
I tried the Allocate() method for the UnstructuredGrid with no luck.
