[vtkusers] How to read matlab ASCII files in vtk

Dear Friends,
    I have done Image segmentation of MRI data of knee and I have a set of
Points(x,y) for each slice of the datasets. These points have been written
onto a separate file in ASCII format. There are 20 such slides and hence 20
ASCII files. But these files are not being read by vtkImageReader or
vtkVolume16Reader. Can anyone help me with this?
