[vtkusers] Picking Density Value

Hello,
I want to display density(greyscale) value of my cursor's position on an image while my mouse is moving. 
For this I have RenderWindowInteractor's GetLastEventPosition() which returns two integers as coordinate.
I have tried various ways but couldn't achieve success yet. 
If someone could give me some lead information that would be perfect.
