[vtkusers] Volume rendering?

Hello vtkusers.

I need a little help to determine how I can make the following possible:

I have scalar data on a structured grid.
What I want to create is a volumetric representation of a specific range 
of this scalar data.
I want it to be displayed as some kind of coherent "cloud".

Is this called volume rendering?

Any ideas where I can start to make this work?
