[vtkusers] Wrong ICP result : the volumes are opposed

ICP only guarantees a local optimum, that is, if you start in a very bad
initial relative pose, you will not find the "correct" (ie. global) solution
you are looking for. You need to use another technique (ie. spin images) to
initialize the ICP.
