[vtkusers] Volume visualization

Dear VTK-Developers,

I am new to VTK. I have a 3D MR Volume. I need to enable visualization of
the anatomical structures inside  the volume so that the structures can be
seen from different views and with varied transparencies.

Can this be done using VTK? If so, then is there any reference
documentation/example I could use to start with it.
Your advise is greatly appreciated.
