[vtkusers] using vtkImageTracerWidget with vtkImagePlaneWidget

I've spent some time trying to figure out how to trace points/lines over a
3D volume and I came across the vtkImageTracerWidget. This class appears to
do exactly what I need to do. I've only found examples of how to use it with
vtkImageViewer or vtkActor. How would I get this to work with
vtkImagePlaneWidget?
