[vtkusers] Some things cannot be saved as VTP?

The first time I ran the "Mask Points" filter it worked as expected. Now I am
trying to run it, and it is resulting in the correct number of points, but
only from a small piece of the model rather than kind of uniform sampling
across the entire model. Have you ever seen this behavior?
