[vtkusers] SmartPointer does not seem to free memory!? Bug!?

vtk is almost 16 years old. Smart pointers were added to vtk about 7
years ago. itk is about 10 years old and used smart pointers from the
start.

I don't know if the vtk books talk about smart pointers. I don't have
a recent version of them.
