[vtkusers] Can we drop Visual Studio 6 support? (second try)

Hi folks,

We are thinking of dropping support for Visual Studio 6. It is causing
annoying maintenance issues since no one in the developer team uses it
and since VS 6 supports only a subset of modern C++ features. I am
looking for answers to the following questions:

* Do you need VTK working with Visual Studio 6?
* Why can't you migrate to another compiler, such as Visual Studio 9?

Unless you have a valid answer to both of the questions above please do not
respond to this message. There is another thread on this subject, which
turned into a discussion on why we should/should not support VS 6. Please
respond  to that one instead.
