[vtkusers] load pointers to separate slices into image data class

Dear all,

I am completely new to vtk and this mailing list and have the following 
question:
I have an application which manipulates data slicewise. I would like to 
use vtk to visualize a stack of slices (e.g., using volume rendering).
Is is possible to load (pointers to) multiple, separate slices (only 
individual slices are contiguous in memory) into one of the vtk image 
data classes without copying the data?
